Why LDN may not have worked for you!
But before I begin I will say I am not a doctor and I do not know everything about LDN. I have been a professional sufferer that got tired of being sick and all the crap that went with it.
I have come across others say they had no luck with LDN until they made a change and it eventually worked for them. I found this out when I was researching and deciding the risk benefit ratio for myself.
Which leads me to this first. Did you know once a drug is no longer patented and owned by a drug manufacturer it can then be made by other companies creating generics.
I was on anti depressants at one time. I did them because I had enough to deal with and had no time to be depressed, I was a mom. They did not work for me. My doctor told me that it is not uncommon that anti depressants do not work with auto immune patients.
Then he mentioned generic drugs as well. He mentioned that generics do not have to be exact recipe as the original and are allowed to be at a much lower percentage of the active drug than the original.
I can’t remember the percentage lower difference, but my jaw literally dropped! He could clearly see my shock, and said yes it’s a fact.
Thats some serious stuff!
So if you have been arguing with your doctor that your generics aren’t working as well for you they technically can’t argue with you.
Your insurance company may not cover the original but ask if they cover another generic.
For me I am allergic to a generic drug and it sends me straight to the hospital in respiratory distress. I fought my insurance company because I was allergic to a filler and they had no choice.
Keeping all that in mind. If LDN (Low Dose Naltrexone) do not work for you and you feel no benefit. Do not give up so quick and find another brand.
I have seen testimonies of LDN patients where that was the fix for them. I have seen others order from out of the country and because they had an actual prescription customs allowed it in.
Have it marked on package for customs to see in order to verify if that will be the route you take.
But I would suspect that your pharmacist would be willing to order in another brand in order for you to try that one out.
Also I have seen some patients quite after three months.
Try to hold out longer. I have also come across patients that have multiple auto immune disorders and serious not get relief and it took a year to get results.
Once they finally got those results it was a game changer for them. And in many cases doctors that are in the know about the drug and willing to prescribe will tell you this.
They should tell you this.
But if they don’t just be happy they were willing to try by writing you and RX and didn’t keep their head in the sand like so many others.
Just give another brand a try.
Also keep in mind this drug may have lots of work to do, if you have more than one auto immune, and they have done much damage to your body.
I had something else to add to this important post. And I cannot remember. If I do I will come back and add it.
My memory was terrible when I was full our suffering from lupus and hashimotos. I can’t even describe how horrible it was.
I am much better at it now but I still forget things. 🙂
I used to say my brain doesn’t work properly now that I’m sick and it’s filing system was on the fritz so my “hard drive” of brain had to work extra hard to find a remember things because it didn’t file in the right area. It was in there just wrong file folder on other side in the back somewhere!!!
OK I am out of here for tonight. I have a wayward child that is waaaay past bedtime because I wanted to write another post.
