As of today I am on a Hashimoto’s hustle. Because last week I was on my shuffle and the week before… I shuffled through my day barely able to lift my body or feet. Though my malar rash looks like it’s making an appearance of sorts too.
Both my hustle and shuffle are technically at a snails pace compared to my hyper fast effective prior life.
I have been recovering from pneumonia because my immune system is tired of the BS. And I can say I have survived without an ER visit three times a day begging for oxygen and treatment only because LDN has helped my immune system so much.
Without LDN guaranteed I would be visiting hospital numerous times by now over the two months I have been battling it. It left and came back. In a civilized nation I would have been admitted the previous times I have had it here. But they’d give me the treatment and send me home even if not recovered. As an asthmatic I have always been sick, bronchitis and pneumonia put me in the hospital many many times in my life since childhood.
But now things are worse for me because of my location. The doctors noses are so far up the insurance here that they must smell crap on their noses all day.
And from taking a break so long so soon after starting my site I am now on my what I call “hashimoto’s hustle.” Catching up on tons of housework, mountains of laundry, and of course writing on my site.
The only problem is I can’t hustle too fast because I am still fighting to breath. And if I push it I am going to go fifty steps back. And start all over again.I am trying to get this issue resolved. And to tell you the truth it took me four years since the first symptom to be diagnosed with it. Even when I had thyroid NODULES the size of a large elephant hemorrhoid.
I don’t feel like I have to hide my ugliness behind a scarf to conceal my horrendous neck that has no line. I used to be a size two at 5’10” but now I am a 14 at 5’8.”
, I even had a nurse at the doctors office think it was the most hilarious thing when I said, “what did you say my height was?”
“No, something is wrong this is not my height and how could I shrink so fast?”
I had several ultrasounds. And I had biopsies. I had all of the symptoms, but “regular” blood work that landed in the “normal” range.
Normal for what? A dying snail?
The doctor that did my first biopsy belittled me by saying you’re going to be just fine, in a tone of you’re worried for nothing and we don’t want to do anything anyways.
So we’ll just be nice to make you think we care. And “You only have dry skin because you live here.” I’ll leave out the name of this horrendous place until I escape the country and write my book about my exprience.
Meanwhile I was exhausted, sore, and always sick and always struggling.
I got tired of hearing your levels are fine. There is nothing wrong with you.
Are these people serious? This is what medical school gets them? Such scientific data that helps patients so immensely? And sending me home with no help because my range was normal?
Seriously is this what people pay for when going to medical school? Something tells me they didn’t actually go to med school and got their licence in a cracker jack box. Remember the paper prizes?
After that woman it took three more years for anyone to even test me for Hashimoto’s.
OK I think I am giving away my age there but still… It’s a kid toy prize licence I swear!
So anyways… after suffering so much and losing even more hair than I did with lupus symptoms I had long before I ever had one single hashi’s symptom, I decided screw the system I am going to treat myself. I played doctor. And I’m glad I did.
They are killing me and I have a life to live and a child to raise and a country to get the hell out of to get back home!
And I did. I got my hands on natural desiccated thyroid without my doctor.
I took it and started growing some of my hair back in tiny little tufts, and my feet bones hurt much less. Even less when I started taking iodine! But it didn’t do the whole job. That would be because the rest of everything is being ignored basically.
I’ll share what I am going to do to detox my thyroid in an other post if you stick with me…
After that started to help I asked a GP to write me a prescription to get it because the specialists weren’t doing anything but harming me and leaving me hanging on a cliff. They agreed and gave it to me so I could have some follow up and have a doctor watch me somewhat.
It would have been better if I had an endo that gave it to me and watched but hey I didn’t really care as long as I didn’t have to feel like a criminal bringing it across a border in a sneaky way and my GP helped while.
I shouldn’t have to feel like a criminal to regain my health or be treated properly!
I still have thyroid a thyroid nodule on each side. One has hurthle cells, follicular cells, and marked increased vascularity with calcification and a hypo echoic halo.
I can’t really cut my throat open to remove the bad one myself to take samples and send to a lab to verify. But if I could you know I would be.
I’ll share that saga about what happened to me with that doctor. But it includes fraud and I am reporting it and I am going to have them arrested. I’m not kidding either. I have other doctors on my side through the process.
I can tell you I do not mess around and these fools have another thing coming if they think they can walk into an office, string me along, harm me, possibly kill me slowly while collecting money thinking I am too stupid to read my medical files?
They truly have another thing coming.
And because of them taking this in such a joking manner while I suffer I do have some really bad days.
Since the day he was born no doctor thought that was important for me to do no matter how much I begged.
Before I started my LDN I can tell you there was zero chance I could have written this many posts. As a matter of fact I could not focus at all. I cried so much. I had to tell my child no all the time because I didn’t even have the physical strength to hold him unless sitting down.
I do know if I was not treated the same way when I first started to question doctors for lupus symptoms, I would probably been able to stave off Hashimoto’s. That is if they didn’t allow my body to become so stressed and so ill and just treated all the lupus symptoms before my body completely went haywire and said NO MORE!
I did not have an hashimoto’s symptoms until three years after my first severe lupus symptoms flare.
I’m not sure how you found out you had hashimoto’s. I’m assuming my readers have it if they are reading this blurb of mine. But I can tell you this.
Don’t give up. Keep changing doctors if you can in order to find someone to help you. Keep switching GP’s if you have to to find one of those you can keep as a regular doctor if they listen to you.
If they listen to you they may write you an prescription for the amor. If you are not aware amor is natural desiccated thyroid. It has all the thyroid hormones that a human needs. Synthetic does not. I made the decision to prescribe myself amor because of that fact.
I honestly don’t suggest you do the self prescribe though. I felt comfortable doing it because I have been sick my entire life and understand side effects and dosing and stopping and all the things you kind of know when you have been on a million drugs since birth.
I do know it was extremely dangerous had I just jumped to a higher dose or indeed my normal levels were normal including for me. But I did watch for the itching and side effects and heart palpitations. I gradually increased my dose.
And it helped which proved my levels were not in normal range. Not everybody falls in the same range as everyone else. And good doctors WILL tell you that. Good doctors that care about their patients will listen and work with the patient.
I think that’s why my GP gave me the RX so that I would not have a dangerous situation without being able to speak to a pro about anything that may have changed for the worse. And this GP actually does care about their patients. I was really worried my GP would chew me out. But I also know they are extremely excellent doctor and so angry at the rest that were ignoring me.
If you don’t know, amor comes from porcine thyroid because pigs apparently have similar make up as humans. It is the pig thyroid in whole form powered and put in pill form therefor containing every hormone we need to replace what our thyroids decided to take away from us. Not just one as in synthetic.
Doctors try to use the excuse from what I’ve seen that it isn’t guaranteed to be the same levels in every pill and other excuses.
But from what I read, hypothyroid patients do better with natural thyroid than the synthetic, which only seems to help the drug manufacturers. So I wish you luck in finding your own doctor that will listen to you. Don’t give up. It took me five years to find a doctor to listen to me from the point thyroid issues stepped in. Nine from heavy duty lupus symptoms and massive flares starting.
I would like to think your luck is much better than mine. 😉
